HOW TO JOIN
- If already a member of AERA:
1. Go to http://www.aera.net.
2. Login using your AERA membership number.
3. Click on SIG Memberships.
4. Click on Purchase Additional SIG Memberships.
5. Click on Appl Res in Virtual Environ
6. Scroll to bottom of the page and click Next
7. Follow the instructions for paying.
- If not a member of AERA:
1. Go to http://www.aera.net.
2. Click on Membership on left side of the screen.
3. On the right hand of the screen, under New Members, click on join AERA online.
4. Fill out the information requested and click Submit, Go to Next Step.
5. The system will walk you through what you need to do.
When you get to the screen asking about joining a SIG, be sure to click on Appl Res in Virtual Environ.
- Eligibility. Membership in the SIG shall be open to any
AERA member who supports the purposes of the SIG and who pays the
specified SIG dues and all additional fees required of SIG members
by the Association.
- Joining the SIG. AERA members shall join the SIG by
paying SIG dues and Association fees through the AERA Central
Office using the appropriate AERA print or electronic
form.
- -- You may join when you join AERA or
renew your AERA membership; you may send in your SIG membership
along with your AERA membership.
-- Please visit the AERA Membership webpage to join or renew on-line.
-- You may also download and complete your AERA and SIG membership form (PDF) and mail the completed form along with payment to AERA, Dept. 3073, Washington, DC 20061-3073. - Dues (1 year). AERA Voting Members: $15, AERA Student Members: $10
- Members in Good Standing. SIG members are considered ‘in
good standing’ immediately upon the recording of their dues paid in
full by the AERA Central Office.
- Length of Membership in the SIG. The length of
membership in the SIG shall be from the date membership dues are
received in Central Office to the end of the AERA membership year
as established by the Association. AERA members may join the SIG at
any time, but SIG membership expires coterminously with AERA
membership.
- Voting Rights. All SIG members in good standing, fully
paid in SIG dues, shall be entitled to vote for SIG officers and
any other matter where a vote is taken or required.

We are a special interest group (SIG) affiliated with the American Educational Research Association (AERA). The annual meeting is next spring, April 30-May 4 in Denver, CO this year. http://aera.net/2010AnnualMeeting.htm
