The global educational landscape is changing, due to the continual advancement of technologies. Such advances in technology have never been at a greater pace that those being experienced today, and have the promise of revolutionising working practices and changing the world of education in the modern knowledge-based economies. This paradigm shift in education is imminent and has since gathered a lot of interests, among the academics and the industry, in an attempt to bridge the technological gap in the educational sector. To cope with the changing education environment, this International iCampus Symposium aims to address the various research area-of-interests in order to create a holistic next-generation intelligent campus environment that is suited for the 21st century. It encompasses (but is not limited to) several themes of campus intelligence, such as iLearning, iSocial, iGreen, iHealth, iManagement, and iGovernance. This symposium thus offers all like-minded stakeholders a forum to share ideas, insights and experiences, as well as to explore multidisciplinary research advances within the context of an intelligent campus environment.

The central theme of this year IC'12 symposium is on the "Intelligent educational environments for the next generation". It will comprise of three main key sessions: (a) invited speakers session, (b) research papers session, and (c) roundtable/panel session. In support of the theme, this year event would be co-hosted with the 2012 World Intelligence Congress, with an additional focus on Web Intelligence and Intelligent Agent Technology, in conjunction with Active Media Technology, Brain Informatics and Methodologies for Intelligent Systems. The congress is organized/sponsored by the Web Intelligence Consortium, the IEEE Computer Society, the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society and the ACM SIGART, to mark the special event of the Alan Turing Year (Centenary of Alan Turing's birth) in 2012.

The papers should be submitted via the IC'12 online submission system as detailed on the symposium website. The length of the submitted papers should not be more than 5 pages and must be formatted in accordance with the IEEE-CS templates (http://www.computer.org/portal/web/cscps/formatting). Note that additional payment is only available for one more extra page to be allocated in the proceedings.

All papers accepted for the international IC'12 symposium will be included in the proceedings published by the IEEE Education Society or IEEE Computer Society Press that are indexed by EI, and will be available at the symposium event. Note that at least one author for each accepted paper must register and present the paper, via online or onsite, in the symposium. A Best Paper Award will also be awarded to recognize superior quality paper of exceptional merit in the symposium. In addition, selected papers would be invited for extended journal publication in edited books or international journals such as the IEEE Transactions on Education, the IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies, or other related special journal issues.
