Very interesting. This was presented at the AERA 2009, correct? Has the team set up a SMALlab toolkit for other institutions to replicate? Also, what about content? Has the SMALlab been adapted to other discipline (math, history....)? I imagine that a re-creation of a battle that students would embody as a great immersive learning.
After reflection, let me bring this conversation to the "Augmented and Mixed-Reality Group". Looking forward to reading your comments there.
